Repair of severely damaged RC columns through FRCM composites

This study presents the results of an experimental campaign aimed at testing effectiveness carbon fiber reinforced cementitious matrix (CFRCM) confinement as a repair technique for severely damaged concrete (RC) columns. To evaluate shape effect and transverse steel reinforcement (TSR) – interaction, two different cross-section shapes, TSR rates were investigated. Nine full-scale specimens analyzed considering three control ones, undamaged confined with CFRCM layers, repaired through by layers. Axial stress-strain curves to derive strength ductility enhancement. Finally, strains monitored better comprehend contributions internal external overall possible TSR-FRCM interaction.
